Matakana Market Run 2026
Run to Matakana Markets with lunch at the Plume restaurant.
We woke to an overcast day, but when we met at Cobham Car park the weather was looking better.
Nine cars left at 8.45 heading south, we encountered an odd patch of rain and the Bryderwyn’s was in cloud. Once the other side of the hills the weather started to fine up and by the time we arrived at Matakana there was blue sky.
We met up with Trevor president of the Auckland Mercedes Club as they had arrived a bit earlier than us most of them had already headed to the markets for coffee etc.
Unfortunately one of our members had a mishap with the car keys which got locked in the car and had a longish wait for the AA to come and retrieve them.
At lunch time those that had booked headed for the Plume restaurant, where we met with the Mercedes Club people, there was 23 in all. We had a marvellous 3 course meal and a great time getting to know the Mercedes guys with lots of conversations.
A most enjoyable day and the Mercedes club are interested in doing other runs with our club so we will meet up with them again
