Jane Mander Village Run 2026
Visit to Jane Mander Village 10 th September ‘26
By Raewyn Messham
After a leisurely lunch at the Springs Flat Roadhouse and an hour to kill before we
were to meet up outside the gates of Jane Mander Retirement Village, many of us
wondered off, we came back to our house at Bupa with Ngaire & Courtney for a
drink. When we came to leave our house, it had been raining…
On arrival at Jane Mander we queued on the road just outside the village until everyone turned up, and thankfully the rain had stopped.
We all finally started the drive around the Village with Phill Scott in the leading the collection of Club cars.
All in all there were 11 cars cruising around the village tooting and waving to the residents, who had come out to watch us, pass their homes.
All the cars ended up outside the Reception area and reversed parked in the visitors parking area, well most did, some had to park outside the main entrance.
It was really great to see so many residents coming out to see the cars and many were very interested to look over the older cars.
After some time there, we then were invited into the community hall for a tea or coffee and a bicky or two.
We were also invited to stay for the Happy Hour, which was not until about an hours’ time. Most did not stay, but it was nice to be invited just the same.
A thoroughly pleasant afternoon raising smiles while at the same time bringing back memories for so many people at the same time.
