North Haven Hospice Father’s Day Event

The club were invited to provide cars in support of the North Haven Hospice Father’s Day Event which was held on Thursday the 4th September at the Whangarei Rock and Roll Club venue at Pohe Island Road adjacent to the William Fraser Memorial Park off Riverside Drive. Always happy to support good causes members were issued an invitation and ten cars and their drivers and passengers met up at the Kensington Park car park at 09:00 for a 09;15 departure. A leisurely drive around the Twin Coast Discovery Highway and onto Riverside Drive saw us arrive and warmly welcomed by members of the Hospice team who were in the throes of getting the BBQ set up. There were a number of other cars on display and I have included a number in the accompanying photographs that were shinning examples of the length some people will go to in presenting their vehicles.

We were invited into the club rooms and provided with hot tea and coffee and a range of delectable s from the table, sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones with cream and jam to mention just some of the spread laid before us. For those with room to spare there was always a hot sausage from the BBQ set up under the awning outside.

It was a great morning out for the members and a cause worthy of the club’s support so good to see members making the effort for a week day event.
